The Palm House at Kew Garden is set to close for 5 years for renovations in 2027, I have been meaning to visit for some time but this deadline gave me the push needed to finally make the visit a reality.
The gardens are expansive, filled with a collection of beautiful Victorian cast iron and modern greenhouses along with a mixture of other features such as a bamboo forest containing a traditional japanese farm house that was shipped over piece by piece before being re-assembled and a chinese inspired pagoda designed by a british architect.
Compared to the Eden project which I visited earlier in the year each individual greenhouse is smaller in scale but the overall site is more impressive in its variety and size, aswell as providing a rich and interesting history to read through.
It was a long day taking over 6 hours to explore the main features and walk most of the site.
