Thruscross Reservoir Photography

At the weekend just gone I drove upto Thruscross Reservoir in North Yorkshire, recently I have been looking around for interesting examples of brutalist structures and civil engineering works.

The cold oppresive nature of these structures often juxtaposed with nature or natural elements always draws my attention, I even find a lot of them almost beautiful in their own way. The Barbican in london been one of the best examples and a place I try to visit everytime I am in the city.

I find the dam at thrucross with its overflows to be a striking structure that I feel has an almost cinematic quality, by that I mean that that shots of it would not seem out of place when used in some dystopian piece of film. I tried to capture this feeling in the images below.
