Autumnal Woodland Photography

I was late with my first trip out to catch some autumn coloursthis year, fortunately it seems that due to the unseasonally warm weather autumn was slightly late to Dalby forest aswell.

Dalby forest consists of over 8,500 acres of woodland in the North Yorkshire Moors National park and I think it is one of the most impressive pieces of woodland left in England.
The park is very close to where I grew up and as such we spent a lot of time there when I was a child so returning as an adult always feels nostalgic and comfortable.

It was an overcast day which was perfect for what I was looking to capture, splashes of golden autumn colour in the dark gloom of the forest.

After 4+ hours of of meandering up and down the various tracks through the forest barely seeing another soul I came away with a few results that I am happy with and many more that Just didnt quite work for me.

All of the images were taken on a Fujifilm X-T2 and XF 16-80mm lens.
